I have fine, straight hair — this has great hold, above medium but not obnoxiously heavy for me. Also keeps my sides nice and slick. I like a medium but this gives me something a bit more substantial, great for warmer days (haven’t used in on super hot days yet though). My girlfriend loves to smell it in my hair. The scent is great, very masculine.

    My hair profile:
I’ve medium thick, wavy hair. I wear a side part with a contour. At the moment, I’m using a brush with wild boar hair, a Denman brush plus a wide tooth comb (detangler). During styling, I use brushes most.

Cedar, mahogany, leather, tobacco scent = a real novelty, special scent. Smells rather strong in the tin. In my hair: not that prominent anymore, a whiff now and than, very subtle. Like this scent. You can describe this like a pair of new shoes, a brand skateboard, the freshness of leather is awesome.

    Application process and result:
TDG comes in a standard 4 oz tin. Inside this tin, we see an off-white pomade. The pomade comes out easy for a firm (typical for all PND’s). Breaking down demands a few solid rubs. Consistency: waxy, shiny, a bit thick, not tacky, not greasy. Goes in easy, spreads evenly like nothing. Provides a strong grip. 3 normal sized licks in the mane. Combing through: some resistance. I use a Denman to make the job a bit easier. Tamed my cowlicks, waves and sides right away! Quick, easy, slick styling with a neat hairdo, great comb lines as a result. For it containing several waxes, this works splendid. I seldom had so less strays and flyaways. The height of my lifted contour was also great. Hair did not move after initial styling. Light to medium weight in the hair.

Good medium shine for a firm. Nice shine in the sunlight. Shine doesn’t lessen throughout the day.

    Hold – endurance:
Firm hold. I’ve used another firm: ‘firmage’. Comparing those 2, I can say firmage is a bit less firm. Wore TDG with temperatures around 90, being mostly indoors. Did little sport, it had some wind, no rain. What a great endurance! Hair kept shape all day long! Didn’t have much strays, flyaways. Endurance wise better for me than firmage did.

Restylable without resistance and no loss of hold.

    Build up:
Waxy, clean, not greasy. Added a few small scoops the days after. Great build up pomade. Becomes a solid firm, tending to a heavy.

    Washing out:
Being a firm and petro-waxy pomade, expect 3-4 showers to get it out. Hair felt healthy plus soft afterwards.
