Product Description

“What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?”

    My hair profile:
    I’ve medium thick, wavy hair. I wear a side part with a contour. At the moment, I’m using a brush with wild boar hair, a Denman brush plus a wide tooth comb (detangler). During styling, I use brushes most.

    Scent:
    Cedar, lime, juniper. Like this one over the new TOWK scent. The MOM scent is not strong, not in its jar or in the hair. Once I styled, I just noticed a few very modest whiffs. The days after, no smell anymore (adaption). Great for me because I dislike strong aromas the whole day. I dig the smell during application.

    Application process – result:
    Pomade has a creamy color. Top layer is hard, scooping out needs a lot of pressure, didn’t need my fingernail. Once below this top layer, not so easy either but not an impossible job. Breaking down demands some power rubs, then the pomade becomes oily, a tiny bit sticky. Putting into hair: scarce tug. I’m used to applicate on damp hair, this helps. Scooped 4 normal licks. The pomade’s grip is strong, spreads okay through the hair. Combing through (Denman brush) went well. Didn’t have tug or pull. Pomade styled well. Laid down the sides great, tamed my cowlicks and my waves weren’t nearly visible anymore. No splits. No issues having strays or flyaways popping out. Hair kept shape after initial styling. It gave me a good height with a slick, neat look. Has a light-medium weight. Good control. Doesn’t feel tacky or greasy. For being a heavy and after heard the difficulties some had with it, I can conclude the overall application was sufficient to me.

    Shine:
    For me the shine is a few notches below medium. Stays till the end of the day.

    Hold – endurance:
    Intended as a heavy hold and that’s true for sure. This pomade keeps the hair in place all day. I can compare its hold with Elmbalmer’s grease medium (more of a firm-heavy in fact). One of the heaviest on the market. I didn’t had issues my cowlicks or waves coming through, strays and flyaways popping out, sides out of place: no. No splits in the front or elsewhere. After some cycling and walking, sweating, wind, temperatures around 70: hair still in place. Overall: great endurance!

    Restyling:
    Great. Around the same hold as before. No resistance.

    Build up:
    Clean. Good build up properties.

    Washing out:
    3-4 shampoos. Hair feels healthy, soft, conditioned after the wash. The quality ingredients with several oils and butters do a great job!

    I made an inventory of degreasing methods that can help you: https://piw74.com/2016/07/12/an-inventory-of-degreasing-methods/

    Hair, scalp issues:
    No breakouts, allergies, itching.

    Conclusion:
    I recommand this pomade because:
    * Great heavy hold.
    * Conditioning ingredients.
    * Great endurance.
