    My hair profile:
I’ve medium thick, wavy hair. I wear a side part with a contour. At the moment, I’m using a brush with wild boar hair, a Denman brush plus a wide tooth comb. During styling, I use brushes most.

Forest: smells fresh, herbal. Whiffs of pine. Not overpowering, well balanced. Noticed it sometimes.

    Application process – result:
On damp hair. Applying on dry hair will give much tug and pull because of the products stiffness. Works also on slightly wet hair for me (with build up). The pomade has a natural light yellow (castor oil) color. Some pressure is needed to scoop it out of the jar. A bit of pressure to break down the product to an oily texture. Pomade goes in somewhat stiff but not painful at all. A few small scoops (3 for me) are enough. Gives a good grip. No tug and pull while combing (brushes). Does not feel heavy in the hair. No stickiness. A bit greasy. Styling time: fast. Hair maintained shape after the initial styling. Straightens my waves sufficiently: some come through a bit from the start without becoming dominant or being a hassle or mess. The nature of one’s hair is respected in a good way in my opinion.Slicks the sides down great. Nice hairdo. Good height. Washes off of your hands easily.

Nice medium shine the entire day.

    Hold – endurance:
Other reviewers described this heavy hold more like a medium, medium-firm. For me: around a firm. After the initial styling, hair maintained well. Does not harden. Holds the hair in place whole day: a few strays and very minimal sagging, some cleaning up at the sides. Can handle some walking, cycling. With some build up the waves diminish. Cowlicks tamed. Heavy wind did not mess up my hair. Hair remains soft. Tamed all day long: my waves and cowlicks, sides. No splitting.

I really didn’t need to restyle, just some cleaning up at the sides. No tug and pull during the restyling process (Denman brush). No real loss of hold. The already present waves didn’t get more intense.

    Build up:
Clean build up. The day(s) after: a small scoop extra, done.

    Washing out:
Does not rinse out with just water because it’s an oil based. But from what I’ve heard it rinses out more easily in comparison to other ob pomades. My hair did feel healthy and soft afterwards. What remains, has conditioning properties for hair and scalp.

I made an inventory of degreasing methods that can help you: https://piw74.com/2016/07/12/an-inventory-of-degreasing-methods/

    Hair, scalp issues:
    No breakouts, allergies, itching.
